Which is the best hair transplant method and why?

Hair loss has become a very common problem in adults and now has also started taking place in youth when you are through your early 20s or 30s. While there are some who just simply accept this as their fate, there are quite a lot that takes this problem seriously. So being afraid of the consequences they start searching out for solutions before it gets too late. Though there are several temporary solutions, some methods guarantee permanency in their application and results. In this article, we are going to discuss the best hair transplant method and the reason for why it is the best.

But before that let’s just quickly go through an overview of what hair transplant actually is and what are those methods.

So, what is Hair transplantation?

A procedure through which a dermatological surgeon moves hair from the back of the head or other areas which are resistant to hormonal changes to the hair deficient (bald) areas of the head is known as Hair transplantation. There are two methods through which hair transplant can be done. These are:

·         FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), and

·         FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)

Now let’s discuss both of these methods in detail first.

·         FUT

This method involves removing a small portion of tissue from the back of the head to extract the hair follicles. These follicles after extraction are harvested by a team of clinically skilled surgeons. Finally, they transplant these follicles to the bald region of the recipient’s head. FUT is used in cases of intense hair loss/ baldness because, in it, the physician uses the entire scalp area to produce results. This method is also effective because it allows a large no. of grafts to be transplanted in a single session.

·         FUE

In FUE, no strip of tissue is removed. Instead, each follicular unit is taken out directly from the hair rich areas of the scalp and is transplanted to the bald regions. It results into lesser hair density in the donor area which is not even noticeable. Since each follicle is taken out one by one, so surgeons are able to transplant only a few follicles in one session. So it is a little bit time-consuming process.

So which one is the best, FUT or FUE?

While some surgeons and cosmetic experts recommend FUE because it does not need a strip of scalp and hence no scars or cuts are made, others take a stand to promote FUT. FUT quickly cures the intense cases of hair loss as a larger section of the scalp can be covered in a single session. Also, the resection rate in FUT is probably lesser as compared to FUE. Although, FUE is also good as the recovery time is much quicker and you can return back to work the very next day.

Final Words

So if you are looking for faster results, FUE is the best hair transplant option for you. In case you don’t need any scars, cuts or stitches on your scalp, FUE no doubt is the thing you should go for immediately. So each one has its own significance and none can be judged superior. FUE hair transplant cost is very much low in compare to FUT hair transplant.
